Working on designing a glove from the side, with no cut in yarn...I hate weaving in ends.
| I started with just working out the pattern for the four fingers, and managed to come up with a basic repetitive pattern for them. now to move onto making the full hand. |
| working from the wrist to the fingertips, the next prototype will show where some shaping is required |
| I always use my prototypes. This is a bit of a baggy glove in the palm, so I know where I have to make a change in the shaping. I added a cuff of home-grown, hand spun mohair. |
| The end prototype. I know i was trying to be clever and not have to weave in ends, but I decided that the easiest way to shape this glove is to do it in two sections. If there were in the same colour, still no weaving in, but Hey, I also have a method of weaving in while I knit, so really, this is not a big deal to me. The glove is fiddly to make in terms of writing a pattern, but straightforward to produce. A written pattern will likely not exist for this, unless I become a bit more smart in figuring how to write down what I did. A video may be more conducive to transferring whats in my head to yours. |
