I decided to make some Newfoundland Mitts. A great pattern, and I used lismore Sheep Farm 2 ply in various colours and sizes.

2017-011 Carding and Spinning something just because

Sometimes I just have a feeling to do something with specific fibre and don't have a reason for it. No project in mind. Just to create. That's what I did last night. I had some merino and rainbow nylon blend that I additionally added Shetland to. I have a lot of Shetland lying around. I made sure to prepare 100g of fibre, so that when i do decide what to do with it, there is enough for mittens, or a hat or a scarf...maybe even socks. :)

First sweater

I embarked on a mission to make a sweater for the first time. I attempted this before and usually got bored. So, I made a toddler sweater. I got it done in a little over a week and gave it away for a little girl's first birthday! The pattern is Olive you too, by Taiga Hilliard Designs.

2017-010 - The best mitten ever

I have to weave in the ends of the "best mitten ever". This is a home-made pattern that I constructed to use hand-spun wool in a pattern that carries a mohair handspun from the lock. This mohair gives the mitten a super warm inside. I added intarsia for the thumb part to give a bit of a unique look to the mitten. I should write down how I made these, I suppose...
